The DVD Interactive version of Classic Business English includes all the features of the original BBC video product in DVD interactive format. The complete 20 unit course is included on 5 discs, each containing 4 units and a "User Guide" which includes suggestions for study procedures and for navigation around the discs using the DVD remote control.

All the topics covered in the original course, as listed in the details for the CDROM version, are included in the DVD course. As in the original, the DVD course is based on a drama story about the launch and marketing of an electronic toy.

The DVD version can also accommodate more than one translation so that a single product can serve several local language markets once translations have been inserted.

Each unit of the DVD course consists of three sections; the Video Film with translations, the Exercises, and the Glossary.

The Video Film

Each film unit runs 8-10 minutes and may be paused for study or reversed for repetition by using the DVD remote control. The film units can be viewed with subtitles in English, or local language translation, or both - or without any subtitles. Each sentence in the film can be paused and repeated - using the remote control - to add flexibility to the learning process.

The Exercises

There are three types of exercises for each unit and they are based on the concepts, grammar and vocabulary used in each unit. The exercises are self-correcting, so that the user receives immediate feed-back, and can be repeated as many times as required.

Unit 4 exercise

Language in Use - Multiple choice questions for selection of the correct answer or missing word or expression based on the film.
Listening Comprehension - Complete the sentences or fill the blanks based on the film dialogue, choosing the correct answer from a selection shown on screen.
Pronunciation Practice - Repetition of sentences for practice in pronunciation and intonation based on examples in the film.

The Glossary

Each unit has a glossary of terms used in the unit for vocabulary practice and the terms are translated into local languages to aid the learning process.
